Fortinet vpn tool install procedure on Ubuntu 22.04
Fortinet is a vpc tool provider that some comanies uses, it have support for windows, mac and linux, but the official procedure to install on ubuntu end at the 18.04.
Solution
I find that message of technical support with the simple guide and that solution work.
I ask to the admin to download the Forti client file .deb
- logging into support.fortinet.com
- go to Support>Firmware Download>Select Product: FortiClient> Download
- find the file forticlient_vpn_7.0.6.0214_amd64.deb and if needed also forticlient_7.0.6.0214_amd64.deb
- Now you are ready to install it on ubuntu:
sudo apt install libnss3-tools # needed it cannot
sudo apt install gdebi # sugested for autosolve dependencies
sudo gdebi forticlient_vpn_7.0.6.0214_amd64.debsudo gdebi forticlient_7.0.6.0214_amd64.deb
Conclusions
Like any closed source tools it soffer for upgrade management but it is not so problematic, that can be easily solved in that way. I also think that is a temporary problem that made them in late but I think that they will overcome that soon.
