Global menu in Linux Mint 19.x

If we want to salve space with cinnamon we can remove the close and resize button using Cinnamon Maximus estension and you can youse the shortcuts alt+f4 to close and alt+f10 to resize.

But the menu bar of application consume enouth space. A way to remove it is putting it inside the panel using Global Menu as Gnome. But the guide for mint do not work. In particular the file are not downloadable and if we download the current version of this plugin it do not work with Cinnamon.

After a long search I finde a repo that work on canoi12 github. So the solution is:

# pre requirements
sudo apt-get install unity-gtk2-module unity-gtk3-module appmenu-qt appmenu-qt5
# Install Global menu
cd ~/.local/share/cinnamon/applets/
git clone https://github.com/canoi12/Global-AppMenu.git
cp -r Global-AppMenu/globalAppMenu@lestcape .
rm -rf Global-AppMenu
# logout
# login and set the applet
Enable it as show in image.

If you have a small screen as me, now you can safe all space of our screen.
