Muse score 4.0 on Linux

All the Muse Score new features that work well on linux distros

Muse Score is the most popular music notation application on linux. The new version 4.0 give some new importnt features so we will show how to install and use it under linux.

Muse Score

Muse score work fine to all distro with same instruction, download it and run:

$ chmod +x MuseScore-4.0.0-x86_64.AppImage
$ ./MuseScore-4.0.0-x86_64.AppImage

I notate a play problem on ubuntu with pipewire.

It also do not seams have support for VST on linux.

Options under the mixer

Muse Hub

First of all download Muse Hub.

On Ubuntu and Mint work well simply install with gdebi:

$ sudo gdebi Muse_Hub.deb
$ muse-hub

Notate that it can download only sound no effects or other tabs are present, that is for all linux distro.

On Opensuse to install hub use alien. It have problems with liblttng-ust0–2.12.0–1.30.x86_64 I tryed with `sudo zypper in liblttng-ust1` because the correct version is not available for tumbleweed.

$ sudo alien -r Muse_Hub.deb

$ sudo zypper in ./muse-hub-1.0.0.392-2.x86_64.rpm

But when I try to run a download i reach the following error:

Conclusions

The new features like direct publish and share online and the improved dimensions and spatiature of the partiture are very usefull. Also VST integration are interesting but it seams do not work on linux.

I hope that it will improve in the future also into linux, and you can contrinute by activly send information about bugs or contribute in any other way.
